Sat. Aug. 6: English radical singer-son​gwriter Leon Rosselson benefit for Palestine

The great English radical singer-songwriter Leon Rosselson will be giving a concert at Toronto's Palestinian cultural centre Beit Zatoun (http://beitzatoun.org/) on Saturday August 6th at 7:30 PM. Sponsored by the culture committee of the Greater Toronto Workers Assembly.
 
Admission is $15 ($10 unwaged) with proceeds going to the to UK group Medical Aid for Palestinians (http://www.map-uk.org/).

During Extreme Heat Alerts, the City of Toronto counsels people to seek shelter and opens cooling centres across the City. People are at  risk of death during these alerts – particularly pregnant women, senior citizens, people living with disabilities and chronic illnesses and people living in substandard housing.

June 11: Solidarity With CUPW: Building Public Support

This Saturday we will engage with people about the CUPW strike and distribute solidarity leaflets at several locations in Toronto from 1pm - 3pm.  After the leafleting we will meet at the Imperial Pub (first floor back room - 54 Dundas Street East - Just East of Yonge) for a discussion of the leafleting with other GTWA members and CUPW members.

March 31: Building Solidarity: Campus Labour Struggles and the Student Connection

Student-Worker Solidarity (SWS) is bringing different UofT campus workers together to speak with students about their issues, while also providing students with an opportunity to relay their concerns to workers.

 
A couple of our members are involved in organizing this event to unite labour struggles and student issues on the U of T campus. Anyone in the Workers Assembly who is involved in student activism, labour struggles, or who is just curious about Student-Worker Solidarity and the U of T General Assembly is welcome to attend.
